The 5-day Sirimon route down Chogoria is accessible from the northwest corner of the mountain. At the end of the Kenya Wildlife Service is the Sirimon National Park gate, where you can pay fees and have accommodation available. This route is usually considered one of the easier routes, as it is a relatively gradual climb with only a few steep sections before reaching the summit camp. Although it is currently the most popular route, it is never crowded. There are two huts with dorm rooms, toilets and a campsite. Old Moses (3400m) and Shiptons (4200m). The route follows the road on the first day, passes through open moors and Mackinder Valley on the second day, and then approaches Point Lenana from the north on the summit day.
It is much more scenic than Naromoru and is on the dry side of the mountain, making for some great walking. Climb through the forest onto a wide ridge approach to the summit area. The route begins on the northwest side of the mountain near Nanyuki. Access is ample and the bunkhouse amenities are among the best on this side of the mountain.
